DDP means delivered duty paid: the sender covers duties and taxes, and the person receiving the parcel pays nothing on arrival. Dragon Courier ships DDP from Thailand to the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, the Philippines, Singapore, the UAE and western Europe.
All duties, costs and tariffs are inside the fee. One rate covers customs clearance, transportation, delivery and documentation. No hidden fees, no surcharges, no bill at the door.
Why it matters now
De minimis relief, the rule that let small parcels enter free of duty, has been closing across the biggest markets during 2026. The United States suspended its 800 dollar exemption for everything arriving outside the postal network, so every parcel now needs a customs entry whatever it is worth (Federal Register, 24 June 2026). The European Union removed the 150 euro duty exemption on 1 July 2026 and replaced it with a flat 3 euro duty per item (Council Regulation (EU) 2026/382). The United Kingdom still applies its 135 pound threshold per consignment, and has said the duty relief will go by October 2028 at the latest.
The practical effect is the same everywhere: a parcel sent duty unpaid now gets stopped and a bill goes to the buyer. That bill is where refunds, chargebacks and bad reviews come from. Sending DDP removes the moment entirely.
How it works
Dragon Courier handles the export, the documents and the customs clearance, and pays the duty on the sender’s behalf at the border. Customs clearance is the main selling point of the company: it takes care of everything door to door. The last leg travels on the networks of the major carriers, a mixture of UPS, FedEx and DHL. For the United States, Dragon Courier clears customs itself and UPS delivers to the door.
The price is weight and dimension, quoted for the destination country, and it already contains the duty. Nothing extra for an urgent shipment, nothing extra for a remote address, and no discount for anybody: one price for all customers, whether the sender ships one box or ships every week. Prices for a single country are on that country’s shipping page, for example the USA and the UK.
Where it applies
DDP is available on the main markets served from Thailand, which covers the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, the Philippines, Singapore, the UAE and western Europe. Some destinations are quoted duty unpaid, so the person receiving the parcel settles duty and VAT locally. The team says which of the two applies to a destination before the shipment leaves, and it is written on the quote.
What we need from you
The contents of the package and the receiver’s name, address and contact number. That is the whole list. No other information, and no account is required to start sending.
Drop-off is until 17:00, Monday to Saturday, at the Bangkok office in Sukhumvit Soi 4 or the Chiang Mai office on Viangbua Road. If a pickup is easier, give the team the date and the time you want. Payment is cash or bank transfer, before export, and any invoice you require can be provided. How claims and delays are handled is set out in the refund and cancellation policy.
Does my customer pay anything when the parcel arrives?
No, not on a DDP shipment. Duties, taxes and clearance are already in the price you paid. Nothing is collected at the door.
Is DDP more expensive than sending duty unpaid?
The total is usually lower, because there is no separate brokerage fee and no duty collected at the door with a handling charge on top. You see one number before the parcel leaves.
Which destinations are duty inclusive?
The main markets are, including the USA, the UK, Canada, Australia, the Philippines, Singapore, the UAE and western Europe. Ask the team about any destination that is not on that list, and how it is quoted will be confirmed before you send.
How long does delivery take?
Around 5 to 8 days door to door for most markets. Singapore and Metro Manila are 1 to 2 days.
What is the difference between DDP and DDU?
DDP means the sender has paid duty and tax, so delivery is clean. DDU, delivered duty unpaid, means the person receiving the parcel is invoiced by the carrier before it is released. The full mechanics are in the guide to DDP shipping.
