DDP shipping from Thailand

DDP shipping from Thailand

DDU shipping leaves your customer with a customs bill they did not expect. DDP means they never see one. Dragon Courier ships DDP from Thailand to the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, the Philippines, Singapore, the UAE and western Europe.

All duties, costs and tariffs are included in the fee, 100 percent guaranteed. There is nothing to pay on arrival. One rate covers customs clearance, transportation, delivery and documentation.

What DDU costs your customer

Under DDU, someone has to do the homework. Find the destination country’s HS code for the product. Look up its duty rate. Add that to the value of the goods and the freight. Work out VAT on top. Some carriers then add a fee of their own for handling it. Most buyers never do that math. They open the door, see a bill, and blame the shop, not the customs office.

That surprise used to hit only the larger parcels. It does not any more. The duty free thresholds that kept small parcels out of customs have been closing this year in the United States, the European Union and the United Kingdom. The dates and the numbers for each market are in the guide to DDP shipping. What it means for a parcel sent duty unpaid is the same everywhere: it gets stopped, and the bill goes to the buyer.

Who clears the shipment

Dragon Courier takes care of everything, door to door. The export, the documents and the customs clearance sit on this side, and the duty is paid at the border on the sender’s behalf. Dragon Courier also offers an Importer of Record service, so the paperwork on arrival is handled under the company name and not tracked back to your customer. Permits are part of the service. Your customer needs no import permit of their own.

Clearance is generally same day once the shipment is presented. Delays are extremely rare. When one happens it is usually customs, weather, a wrong address or a third party outside anyone’s control, and a refund is not guaranteed for it. The last leg travels on the networks of the big carriers, a mixture of UPS, FedEx and DHL. For the United States, Dragon Courier clears customs itself and the last leg runs on UniUni for e-commerce shipments or UPS for standard.

What it costs

The price is the weight and the dimensions of the box, quoted for the destination country, duty already inside. No hidden fees. No remote area surcharges. Nothing extra for an urgent shipment. One price for all customers, whether you send one box or send every week, and no discounts. Prices for a single country sit on that country’s page, for example the USA and the UK.

DDP covers the main markets served from Thailand. A few destinations are quoted duty unpaid instead, which means your customer settles duty and VAT locally. The team says which of the two applies before the shipment leaves, and it is written on the quote. Most markets run 5 to 8 days door to door. Singapore and Metro Manila are 1 to 2 days.

What we need from you

The contents of the package, and the receiver’s name, address and contact number. That is the whole list. No account is required to start sending.

Drop-off is until 17:00, Monday to Saturday, at the Bangkok office in Sukhumvit Soi 4 or the Chiang Mai office on Viangbua Road. If a pickup is easier, give the team the date and the time you want. Payment is cash or bank transfer, before export, and any invoice you require can be provided. Claims and delays are covered in the refund and cancellation policy.

Dragon Courier has been running international logistics out of Thailand for over 30 years, under the same management team for most of it.

Does my customer pay anything when the parcel arrives?

No. All duties, costs and tariffs are included in our fee, 100 percent guaranteed. Nothing is collected at the door.

Is DDP more expensive than sending duty unpaid?

The total is usually lower. There is no separate brokerage fee, and no duty collected at the door with a handling charge on top. You see one number before the parcel leaves.

Which destinations are duty inclusive?

The main markets are, including the USA, the UK, Canada, Australia, the Philippines, Singapore, the UAE and western Europe. Ask us about anything outside that list and we will confirm how it is quoted before you send.

How long does delivery take?

Around 5 to 8 days door to door for most markets. Singapore and Metro Manila are 1 to 2 days.

What is the difference between DDP and DDU?

DDP means the sender has paid duty and tax, so delivery is clean. DDU means the person receiving the parcel is invoiced by the carrier before it is released. The full mechanics are in the guide to DDP shipping.
