Thai Concept Motorcycle Parts for the Philippines: Styles, Bikes and the LTO Rules

Thai concept bikes are a Philippine build copied from Thai street and drag bikes. Here are some parts that make the bike look Thai: exhaust, rims, handlebars and plate, the items the LTO checks.
What is a Thai concept motorcycle in the Philippines?
Thai concept in the Philippines means building scooters or small motorcycles in the style of modified Thai bikes. InsideRACING, a Philippine magazine, groups the builds into Vanz, Drag and Streetbike. The strictest builders only use original parts made in Thailand.
No government or standards body defines the styles. This guide uses the magazine descriptions. Vanz = Thai street-racing style, looks stock on purpose. Classic = carb bikes, Modern = FI bikes. Drag = built for speed and show. Streetbike = mixes the two, stays rideable every day. Behind the scenes groups call it THDM (Thailand Domestic Market).
Vanz is basically street legal/street racing bikes in Thai.

The strict version means it is the original Thai part and the correct age.
They have to be original Thailand made parts, aside from that, the parts must belong to the same period/era as the bike.

Which parts make a Thai concept look?
In the InsideRACING features, Thai concept parts include: aftermarket exhaust, racing seat, big brake calipers, upgraded rear shocks, drag-style rims and tyres, titanium bolts, carbon fibre covers.
Part | Named in the features |
|---|---|
Exhaust | Daeng Sai4, It Salaya titanium |
Seat | JRP Thailand racing flat seat, Nathong seat |
Brakes | Brembo calipers, It Salaya master cylinders, SWIT brake lines |
Rear suspension | JRP Thailand, Ohlins |
Rims and tyres | DS4 and Arovera rims, IRC drag tyres |
Bolts and body | Titanium bolts, carbon fibre covers by CarbonSmith and Akana |

The brand name doesn't prove it is original. One NMAX feature lists a "10A Copy Marc Marquez brake master" next to Brembo calipers.
Which bikes do Filipinos build in the Thai concept style?
InsideRACING Thai concept features cover Yamaha Mio, NMAX, Q-Bix; Honda Wave, ADV 150; Kawasaki KR 150; a Vespa. No Honda Click or Yamaha Aerox build appears in its Thai concept results.
Bike | Style named |
|---|---|
Yamaha Q-Bix | Modern Vanz |
Yamaha Mio1, Mio i 125 | Streetbike, Modern Vanz |
Honda ADV 150 | Modern Street Bike |
Yamaha NMAX | Modern Vanz, Streetbike |
Honda Wave 125, Wave 100 | Vanz-Streetbike fusion, Drag |
Kawasaki KR 150 | Thailand Concept |

A Thai maker, Heng Screw, lists parts for the Click and the Aerox, but no source says that a Thai made part will fit a Filipino built bike. Please contact the part seller for compatibility information.
Do Thai concept parts fit a Philippine-market bike?
Not always. Some Thai parts will fit Philippine bikes, some won't. Builders in the features report parts made for other bikes that needed custom machining to fit. Please ask the Thai seller for fitment before buying.
Second is installation as some of the parts they used are not plug and play.

One example: a Wave 100 owner used parts made for Wave 125, machined them to fit.
Is a Thai concept exhaust legal in the Philippines?
It depends on the exhaust. RA 4136 requires a muffler that is not cut out. An LTO memorandum reported on 14 August 2026 says an aftermarket muffler alone is not a ground for apprehension if the bike is within 99 dB and has no open pipe.
On 6 March, The Freeman reported, the LTO said passing the 99 dB test does not automatically mean an aftermarket muffler is legally approved. On 4 August, SunStar Cebu reported, memorandum MVL-2026-184 paused muffler-only apprehensions while the LTO and DTI review. No end date has been set.
Every motor vehicle propelled by an internal combustion engine shall be equipped with a muffler

the installation or use of an aftermarket muffler per se, shall not constitute sufficient ground for apprehension or issuance of a Temporary Operator’s Permit (TOP), provided that the motorcycle complies with the prescribed maximum allowable sound level of ninety-nine (99) decibels (dB) and is not fitted with or operated using an open-pipe exhaust system.
Source: LTO: Aftermarket mufflers completely legal up to 99 dB, MotoPinas.com, motopinas.com.
The LTO statement on 9 March speaks of mufflers "purchased from authorized dealers", as Top Gear Philippines reported. There is no statement from any source regarding mufflers bought in Thailand. SunStar Cebu reported fines of around ₱5,000 were being given out in Mandaue on 3 March, before the pause.
What do the rules say about lights, rims, handlebars and plates?
Lights follow the LTO memorandum of 15 March 2016, as Top Gear Philippines reported in 2020. Rim size and handlebar changes are on the DOTr list of changes not allowed. Plates must be shown on both the front and back.
Part | Rule found |
|---|---|
Lights | Headlight white or yellowish, directed downward; taillight red; no blinker mode on either; signals yellow, amber or orange; at most 2 auxiliary lamps |
Rims, handlebar | Listed as changes not allowed, unless the owner presents a manufacturer's Certificate of Road Safety |
Plate | Readable plate on the front and back, legible from at least 15 metres |
Sources: Thinking of changing the lights on your motorcycle? Read the LTO’s guidelines first, Top Gear Philippines; LTO Just Made Modifying Your Vehicle a Lot Harder, CarGuide.PH; Republic Act No. 11235, Congress of the Philippines, lawphil.net.
The modifications involving safety and environment shall not be allowed, such as the following: Axle modification; Chassis modification; Extended chassis/body; Additional siding of dump trucks; Extended overhang; Change of rim size; Modification of handle bar and muffler; and Reconfiguration of body dimension and design.
Source: LTO Just Made Modifying Your Vehicle a Lot Harder (quoting DOTr Department Order 2010-32, section 5.2), CarGuide.PH, carguide.ph.
The sources leave gaps. The Mio1 feature reports lightweighting of parts and chassis. Section 5.2 of the DOTr list mentions chassis modification. No source clarifies if lightweighting is considered a modification. The NMAX feature lists "custom made “Ayuda” Thai plates", without mentioning if it replaces the LTO plate.
RA 11235 section 12 punishes covering, concealing, altering or imitating the number plate with prision mayor, a fine of 50,000 to 100,000 pesos, or both. In August 2020 Philstar Wheels reported that the LTO had postponed plate provisions "until further notice". No later notice was found, so current enforcement of the front plate is unconfirmed.
Where do builders buy Thai concept parts?
In the features builders buy in Thailand, online, or from Philippine sellers of Thai parts. Thai bolt maker Heng Screw opened a store in Cebu in 2019, sells wholesale and retail, and ships nationwide, per InsideRACING (current status not checked).
For Bangkok, the only sourced address is a maker's. The Heng Screw page on Thailand Yellow Pages lists a factory at 96/1 Soi Sakae Ngam 14, Saem Dam, Bang Khun Thian, Bangkok 10150. It sells wholesale to parts and tuning shops, Monday to Saturday 08:00 to 17:00; the page is undated, so call first. The car-part areas Siang Kong and Worachak are in the Bangkok auto parts markets guide, and duty, Form D, PS and ICC marks and battery rules are in the customs guide.

What is a Thai concept motorcycle?
A Thai Concept Bike is a bike built in the Philippines that copies a bike from Thailand and uses Thai parts. InsideRACING groups the builds into Vanz, Drag and Streetbike. The strictest builders only accept original Thai parts of the same era as the bike. No official definition was found.
Can I build a Thai concept Honda Click?
No source shows a Honda Click built in this style in the Philippines. Heng Screw's Thai page lists bolts and tuning parts for Click 150i and Click 125i. No source says which thai parts fit a Philippine Click. Builders report custom machining on other models.
Can I use an aftermarket muffler on a Thai concept bike?
An LTO memorandum reported on 14 August 2026 says an aftermarket muffler alone is not enough ground for apprehension if the bike is 99dB or below and has a closed-pipe exhaust. Muffler-only citations were also paused on 4 August during an LTO and DTI review, so check the current memo.
